The year 2016 was proclaimed by UNESCO as the “Aristotle Anniversary Year”, and a World Congress was organized by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies (DIKAM) of AUTH, in celebration of the 2400th anniversary from Aristotle’s birth. It was a great honor for the CAVE Approach© to be approved by the scientific committee of the Congress to be presented among the works of Aristotle scholars from 40 countries. The Congress was held at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in ancient Stageira, the birthplace of Aristotle and in ancient Mieza, the place where Aristotle taught Alexander the Great. The Congress was under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic; it also had the full support of the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés de Philosophie (FISP), the Academy of Athens and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO. Anastasia, being the Author of the CAVE Approach© for HD, presented how the approach has transformed the Aristotle’s Ethical Theory, as described in “Nicomachean Ethics”, into a contemporary approach of human development applicable to a variety of contexts, such as business, academia, education, etc. Regarding the application of the Aristotelian Ethical Theory in the business environment, it was demonstrated that it is not only compatible to a number of contemporary management theories but also appropriate to efficiently address various complex issues that would otherwise require the involvement of many different theories and disciplines.
Anastasia’s article of her oral presentation (“The CAVE Approach: An Application of Aristotelian Ethical Theory through Modern Practices & Tools for Human Development & Wellbeing”) will be published soon in the electronic publication of the proceedings of the Congress.
